Common questions

Do I need a referral to see a psychologist?

You can book directly without a referral. However, to claim Medicare rebates you’ll first need a GP Mental Health Treatment Plan and referral.

Can I claim on private health or Medicare?

With a GP Mental Health Treatment Plan, Medicare rebates apply to a set number of sessions each year. Private health extras may also cover psychology, depending on your level of cover.

How long is an appointment?

Sessions typically run for around an hour, with the first appointment focused on understanding what brings you in. We’ll confirm timing when you book.

What should I bring to my first visit?

Any GP Mental Health Treatment Plan or referral, and your private health or funding details. There’s nothing else you need to prepare — just come as you are.
